How to Best Complete an Assignment

I am a very planned out, organised person and so all of my assignments get planned out in a little notebook I got from Kikki K. I find it a lot easier to complete my assignments when I break it all down into smaller parts that I can tick off.

The first thing I do is write down what the class is, what the assignment is, when it is due and then what the word limit or other font requirements are for that particular assignment. It varies for each assignment, but I then decide what question/topic I want to do and I write that down as well. I will talk about this assignment as if I was doing an essay.

Then I create a checklist for the following things: find readings, dot point an introduction, dot point a conclusion, complete topic sentences for each paragraphs, dot point the paragraphs, write the introduction and conclusion and then write the paragraphs in full, with all references.

After that, it’s time to edit drafts #1 and #2, finalise all in-text references and bibliography in whatever style in needs to be in, go over it one more time and then hand it in.

I guarantee that if you break your assignments down into much smaller tasks, it will be easier to complete them to a great standard and on time!
